The F.X. Smith’s Sons Cigar Factory in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania, opened its doors to cigar production circa 1880, having previously rolled cigars in ……since 1863..In 2018 cigar production moved to factories in the Dominican Republic while the old McSherrystown factory then served as the outlet for sales, storage of products and shipping.

The McSherrystown factory closed its doors to the public for good in 2023. The resulting cleanup in the old factory yielded thousands of vintage cigar advertisements, cigar boxes, cigar bands and other memorabilia, some dating back to the 1880’s. It’s as if time stood still.
